Arthurs Chandlery in Gosport http://www.arthurschandlery.co.uk If you are refitting a boat, these guys are invaluable. They helped us with so many imaginative solutions to problems and always came up with a cheaper idea than we'd thought of. Unusual in the chandlery business I know, but true nevertheless. And if you want one bolt, thats all you have to buy!
Yachtcom and sister company Sailcom: www.yachtcom.co.uk and www.sailcom.co.uk These guys know more about marine communications than anyone we've met. The subject is a real black art, particularly with respect to long range radio (SSB) - If you buy gear or do a course with Bob or Claire you may pay slightly more, but you will get a loads of valuable info, and more to the point, loads of support. Believe me, you'll need it! Its much cheaper in the long run!
JG Tech - www.jgtech.co.uk This small company has proven to be one of the best the best we've dealt with to buy marine electronics. They are quick and understand what they are selling. They are also one of the cheapest in the market for top brand names.
Commodore Yachting http://www.commodore-yachting.com/ For yacht charter and sailing courses in the South of England. Good boats and always willing to do a deal.
Tom Cunliffe http://www.tomcunliffe.com/ For inspiration, entertainment, rules on pouring whiskey and much more. If you are thinking about anything to do with sailing and want some 'real world' advice, this is where it comes from. Sailing is meant to be fun and Tom makes sure it stays that way.
More to come I'm sure
